More information about Zinc Gluconate:
General information
Zinc gluconate is produced by complete neutralisation of gluconic acid with a high purity zinc source and subsequent spray-drying.
Zinc gluconate is mainly used as a mineral source in functional food, beverages and food supplement preparations. Its excellent solubility properties makes it perfect for liquid and powdered applications. As an organic mineral source it is preferred in many applications over inorganic sources because of its superior bioavailability, physiological compatibility and nearly neutral taste compared to other zinc salts. Due to its skin-conditioning properties, it is also used in skin care products.
Zinc gluconate is supplied as a white to almost white, granular or crystalline powder. It shows a good solubility and fast dissolution speed in water and is practically insoluble in alcohol.
