Coated Acids
Coated acids are citric acid products with specially designed properties and added functionalities such as improved compressibility or decreased reactivity with other ingredients. In dry blends, they can simplify production processes and improve the performance of end products.

Coated Acids ingredients
Citric Acid DC
Citric acid DC is a directly compressible citric acid with a thin layer of maltodextrin on the surface of the particles. The use of citric acid DC results in time or energy related savings during the pre-processing or granulation steps prior to the tableting process.Citric Acid S40
Citric acid S40 is a very fine powder, blended with a slight amount of anti-caking agent silicon dioxide (SiO2), which displays a high ability to bind moisture and thereby reduces the caking risk inherent with citric acids in a micronised form.CITROCOAT® N
CITROCOAT® N is the Jungbunzlauer trade name for citric acid with a monosodium citrate coating. Compared to regular citric acid, CITROCOAT® N is less hygroscopic and less reactive with other ingredients.CITROCOAT® EP
CITROCOAT® EP is an agglomerated effervescent compound, bringing citric acid and sodium bicarbonate together in the right composition to create a highly reactive but storage-stable effervescent powder.Related documents
