More information about LIQUINAT®:
General information
Jungbunzlauer LIQUINAT® is a citric acid solution (E-Number E330, CAS-No. 77-92-9), produced by a microbial fermentation of a carbohydrate substrate. Due to its advantages in handling, LIQUINAT® is widely used as acid and pH-control agent in foods, beverages and pharmaceuticals.
LIQUINAT® is a clear, practically colourless and practically odourless solution with a pure, fruit-sour flavour. It is a stable, non-volatile solution and completely miscible in water.
LIQUINAT® is strongly acidic but non-toxic and environmentally safe. It is fully biodegradable and can be disposed with normal sewage after neutralisation according to local legislation.
Specifications
Jungbunzlauer LIQUINAT® citric acid solution meets the requirements of the latest edition of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur), the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC), and the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 231/2012.

Legal Aspects
Food grade LIQUINAT® can be added to foods according to the regulations for citric acid. In Europe citric acid is listed as generally permitted food additive (E330) and may be added to all foodstuffs, following the "quantum satis" principle, as long as no special regulation restricts the use.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) affirmed citric acid as generally recognised as safe (GRAS) direct human food ingredient and permitted the use in food without any limitation other than current good manufacturing practice (CFR § 184.1033).
Jungbunzlauer citric acid has been registered according to REACH Regulation at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in 2010. The REACH registration number of Jungbunzlauer citric acid is 01-2119457026-42-0000.
