TCC TB Tricalcium Citrate – innovative excipient for direct compression

When it comes to cost effective decisions regarding tablet manufacturing, direct compression is the way to go. It provides the most efficient results in terms of labour, time, equipment, operational energy, and space. Additionally, this production method eliminates problems related to heat and moisture, which may occur during wet granulation. However, excipients and active ingredients need to fulfil exceptional properties in order to make the production process cost saving. TCC TB is a highly pure granular powder of calcium citrate tetrahydrate with a special crystalline structure that allows the production of tablets of high tensile strength already at low compression forces. Tablets produced with TCC TB have a low relative density, which facilitates the rapid disintegration even of very hard tablets.

Compliant with the latest versions of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC), TCC TB can be used in a wide range of tableting applications. It is produced at our manufacturing site in Ladenburg, Germany in a unique process resulting in its outstanding characteristics – making it the ideal choice for a direct compression.
