New natural formulations with unique texture by combining Xanthan Gum with Alginate and Tricalcium Citrate

At the same time, consumers are used to beauty products with great texture in products like gels or lotions. These textures are often created by adding synthetic ingredients. Replacing them can be tricky as the texture is an important factor in consumer experience.

Jungbunzlauer developed a solution for creating smooth textures in beauty products that satisfy both: the concern for health and sustainability and the demand for a great consumer experience.

We have created natural formulas for a caring gel and a lotion with COSMOS certified ingredients. The thickener system is based on our xanthan gum in combination with alginate and our tricalcium citrate as the calcium source for cross-linking of alginate. Both thickeners are essential ingredients in the formulation in order to create a smooth product that provides a new application sensation.
