Jungbunzlauer increases capacity of xanthan gum production
We are pleased to announce that a significant capacity increase of xanthan gum has been brought on line in Jungbunzlauer’s largest production plant Pernhofen, Austria. The growing demand of the versatile biogum encouraged Jungbunzlauer to invest in capacity and a range of new special grades.

The Jungbunzlauer xanthan portfolio offers a broad range of xanthan types with a strong focus on highest quality and special performance grades to offer the right product for our customer’s individual application.
In line with our mission “From nature to ingredients®” and with our sustainability and responsibility values, Jungbunzlauer xanthan gum is made by fermentation of natural, non-GM carbohydrates. The continuous optimisation of our processes includes the reduction of energy and water consumption, efficient production and back-integration, and the minimization of waste. This enables us to reach our goal to drastically reduce our carbon footprint and thus to actively help to slow down global warming. The CO2 emission for the production of xanthan gum has been decreased by as much as 46% compared to 2003, and our ambition is to become even better.
