sub4salt® sea salt is a patented mineral salt blend which helps to reduce sodium without compromising taste. A 1:1 replacement of salt by sub4salt® sea salt allows sodium reduction up to 35% whilst providing the same functionality in finished products.
sub4salt® sea salt convinces by its pleasant taste of natural sea salt without any off-flavour compared to common salt replacers and the opportunity for usage within a wide range of wet and dry food applications.
As no or only minor adjustments of the standard recipe are necessary, Jungbunzlauer provides an easy solution to meet consumer’s demand towards a healthier and more conscious lifestyle.

Specifications
Jungbunzlauer sub4salt® sea salt is supplied in food grade quality in accordance with the current requirements of the Food Chemical Codex (FCC).
sub4salt® sea salt is available in the following granulation:
min. 97% < 1.00 mm, which is comparable to common salt.
Other types/granulations are available on request.
sub4salt® sea salt is supplied in 25 kg net polyethylene bags.

Legal Aspects
sub4salt® sea salt consists only of permitted ingredients according to the European food and food additive regulations.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has affirmed as GRAS sodium chloride (21 CFR §182.1) and potassium chloride (21 CFR §184.1631). Sodium gluconate is affirmed as generally recognised as safe (GRAS) and permitted for use in food as sequestrant (21 CFR §182.6757) or nutrient supplement.
It is safe under the conditions of its intended use. However, it may be allowed only in certain applications and not in all countries, therefore, please get in contact for further legal advice.
