Jungbunzlauer has pre-registered all its relevant substances under REACH
REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of CHemicals and represents the future European Commission’s chemicals strategy. The aim of this new regulation is to improve the protection of human health and the environment while maintaining the competitiveness and enhancing the innovative capability of the EU chemical industry.
The regulation became effective on June 1st, 2007. It requires the industry to register all existing substances which fall under REACH with the European Chemicals Agency. Within the registration process substances are prioritised based on produced or imported annual volumes. In order to demonstrate the safe use of a certain substance, registration dossiers will have to contain comprehensive information about the substance and its applications.
Being a manufacturer and downstream user of substances which fall under the scope of REACH, Jungbunzlauer has formed an internal task force, as well as a task force within the European Citric Acid manufacturers (ECAMA). Therefore, we are ready for REACH. The first step within the REACH process is pre-registration which will end in December 2008.
We can hereby confirm that Jungbunzlauer has pre-registered all its relevant substances.
Detailed standard documents containing further information are available upon request.
In the meantime, Jungbunzlauer is taking all necessary steps to prepare for the registration. This will ensure that our customers can continue to purchase all our products and services in the future.
