Characteristics
CITRO DC is the direct compressible type of citric acid. A thin layer of glucose on the surface improves both processing speed for tablets and enhances tablet hardness. It is also suitable for products where fat is undesired in a blend with water-soluble ingredients.
CITROCOAT® N is based on citric acid as core material, with a layer of a citrate as shell material. It is always used to generate a buffering effect, as it is less hygroscopic and reactive with other ingredients compared to regular citric acid.
