Jungbunzlauer Special Salts are high-quality and highly bioavailable organic mineral salts derived from citric acid or gluconic acid. Our calcium, magnesium or potassium sources are mainly used for mineral enrichment in food, beverages, dietetic as well as pharmaceutical products due to their superior technological and nutritional properties. Additionally, tricalcium citrate and tripotassium citrate serve as sodium-free additives for pH and acidity regulation purposes. Monosodium citrate as well as trisodium citrate anhydrous are applied as low-water-content alternatives in applications where an excess of water would lead to undesired reactions, e.g. in dry blends and effervescent tablets. Due to its porous crystal structure, trisodium citrate is also used as carrier for inorganic and/or organic substances.
