Jungbunzlauer adds a second production site for Tripotassium Citrate

We are pleased to announce the start of tripotassium citrate production at the manufacturing plant Jungbunzlauer Canada Inc. located in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada. With this strategic step we debottleneck the fully utilised production capacities in our plant in Ladenburg, Germany and strengthen at the same time Jungbunzlauer’s position in the North American market.

Tripotassium citrate functions as an excellent buffering, sequestering or emulsifying agent in food products as well as an active ingredient in pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements to promote acid-base balance. Added to dentifrice, it is clinically proven to reduce pain for people with sensitive teeth. Moreover, it is used in several technical applications.

Tripotassium citrate has been produced at the German production plant in Ladenburg for more than 25 years. The new production site does not only allow us to supply our North American customers in a more flexible and accelerated way but also ensures business continuity in case of any disruptive incidents. Furthermore with the recent acquisition of Ingredion’s glucose plant we can produce Tripotassium citrate in Port Colborne having a fully vertically integrated manufacturing process from corn to finished product. We strive to be the most reliable and sustainable manufacturer meeting the specific requirements of our customers.
